Texas Book Festival

Texas Book Festival, one of the largest and most prestigious literary festivals in the country, will be held on November 4-5, 2017 in Austin at the State Capitol. Each year, the non-profit organization hosts thousands of attendees and features 250+ nationally and critically recognized authors, live music, local food trucks, family activities, and more.
This year, they are bringing back their cocktail program in 2017 and hosting a week filled with literary-inspired cocktails from bars in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.
B&B Butchers & Restaurant is participating and created a cocktail titled “The Old Man and the Sea” for $14. See below for the recipe and attached for a few photo options. This is an homage to Ernest Hemingway, and it is a version of a hand shaken daiquiri.

1 1/2 oz. Flor de Cana 7yr Rum.
3/4 oz lime juice
1/4 oz. Luxardo Maraschino
1/4 oz. Grapefruit juice.
Shake vigorously until cold and aerated. Strain and serve up in a cold martini glass or coup. Garnish with a lime.

During Monday, August 14 – Friday, August 18th, B&B will donate $4 of every “The Old Man and the Sea” ordered to the Texas Book Festival.
